Workera Ambient
An always-on capability-measurement agent from Workera (Andrew Ng's skills-intelligence company). Our take
Workera Ambient measures workforce capability passively - reading Slack, code, emails and decisions to track how skills develop, with no tests or review cycles. From Andrew Ng's Workera, it's a genuinely new take on skills intelligence. It's a free research preview, so early, and reading everyone's work signals raises real privacy questions. Promising for L&D, but still a preview.
Best for
Enterprise L&D and talent teams that want a continuous, test-free read on how their workforce's AI and technical skills are actually developing.
Pros
- Measures skills passively from real work - no tests or review cycles
- AI-personalised coaching built in
- Free research preview to try now
- Novel approach from an established skills-intelligence company
Cons
- Reading Slack, code and emails raises clear privacy concerns
- Research preview - early and evolving
- Enterprise platform pricing is opaque
How it compares
Unlike course-based L&D tools, Workera Ambient infers capability from day-to-day work signals rather than completions or quizzes.
Full review
Ambient is a new agent from Workera, Andrew Ng's skills-intelligence company. Instead of tests, course completions or review cycles, it reads capability from the apps people already use - Slack conversations, code, emails, prompts and decisions - and turns that into a living signal of how skills are developing over time, with AI-personalised coaching layered on.
Launched on May 28, 2026 as a free research preview, it is the first always-on capability-measurement system Workera has shipped, sitting alongside its AI Readiness Index. The upside for L&D leaders is obvious: a continuous, low-effort read on workforce skills. The catch is equally clear - continuously reading employees' work signals is a real privacy and trust question - and as a preview it is early. Worth a look, but go in with eyes open on both fronts.

OpenRouter
OpenRouter is a unified API and marketplace for large language models. With one account and key you can reach 300+ models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Mistral, Cohere and many smaller providers, using an OpenAI-compatible interface. It charges passthrough rates (provider cost plus a small markup) and publishes live pricing and usage-based model rankings, so you can compare options and route to the cheapest, fastest or most reliable one. It supports automatic fallback across providers and a free-model tier for experimentation; the main costs to watch are a 5.5% credit-card fee, which hits small top-ups hardest, and a 5% bring-your-own-key fee on requests above one million per month.
